ISS-Lumo responds to growing interest for SISU Schools. SAVONLINNA, FINLAND (September 15, 2021) – SISU School Ulaanbaatar is the next SISU School in the fast-growing K-12 entity, brought to life through the collaboration of educator leaders International Schools Services (ISS) and Lumo Education. SISU Schools are part of an innovative, global franchise-model designed to create world-class K-12 international schools. The project in Mongolia follows the SISU School in Punta Cana, a premier resort destination in the Caribbean, which opened this month. ISS and Lumo officials state that additional SISU Schools are currently under discussion with prospective owners in several regions throughout the world. Ms. Khulan, spokesperson for SISU School Ulaanbaatar, commented, “We are confident that the SISU way of promoting entrepreneurial mindset and growth to students at an earlier stage of their lives and making their happiness the priority, will be essential to our future generations to create the best versions of themselves.”
SISU School Ulaanbaatar will be located in Park Garden, a downtown region of the capital of Mongolia. Scheduled to open in September 2023, the school will first provide enrollment for early years through ninth grade and will gradually expand to Grade 12. The school will offer a unique SISU school program, meeting the standards of Finnish and American Education, bilingually in English and Mongolian.
Aki Halko, CEO of Lumo, reflected on the most recent project, “We admire and share the ambition of the Metro Development Company in introducing a new level of education to Mongolia. We created the SISU franchise model to enable prospective school owners, educational entrepreneurs, and investors to deliver a K-12 globalized education program at a reasonable cost, following Finnish, American, and international standards, in any country and in any language. We have been thrilled with the response.”
ISS Senior Leadership Executive for SISU, Dick Moore, explained, “SISU schools embrace the latest in school designs and trends. I’m delighted to see a SISU school planned for Ulaanbaatar.”
